The correct way to install Windows 11 on an old CPU

If you want to upgrade to Windows 11, you don't have to back down for fear of hardware limitations. There are also Microsoft-recognized ways to install Windows on older computers without the risk of formatting the drive and deleting old files. If the older computer displays messages such as "This PC does not meet the system requirements of Windows 11" or "This processor does not support Windows 11," the technology site Senate has suggested that Microsoft approve the "registry hack" approach to installing Windows 11.

According to the Senate report, installing Windows 11 on the old CPU is a three-step process--

1. Download the Windows 11 ISO file:

First you have to download the ISO file of Windows 11. For this, you have to scroll through the Microsoft page and find ‘Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)’. You have to select Windows 11 by opening the 'Select Download' dropdown. Press the download button to decide which language you want to download the product. After confirming the download, click on the 64-bit download option. The 5.1 GB file has to be downloaded in the second step.

2.Edit the Windows registry to avoid CPU checking:

Go to the Windows Start menu and type “regedit”. After pressing Enter, the registry editor will come up. "Computer \ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ MoSetup" Paste this whole line under the "File, Edit, View, Favorites, Help" box or go to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder "SYSTEM", "Setup".
Right click on the right pane. Then click “New> DWORD (32-bit) Value”. Name the value “AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU”. To create a new value, double-click on "Value data" and type "1". Now close the registry editor by pressing "OK".

3.Launch ISO in Windows Explorer and launch Setup:

Once the ISO is downloaded, start the third and final step. Right-click on the ISO file and then click "Open with> Windows Explorer" to mount the virtual disk. Then double-click the setup file to install.
Being able to come this far means that the registry hack has worked. In this case, Windows can warn the user directly instead of 'rejection message'. However, the option to install Windows 11 will remain with it. If you install Windows 11 in this way, there is no fear of losing any of your data.
However, the future risk of this whole process is that Microsoft may stop providing security updates at any time. In other words, if you install Windows 11 in this way, the user will have to take the responsibility.
