'Millions of Android devices' infected with malware
Google has removed about 200 apps from the Play Store for fear of spreading malware. It is estimated that more than a million Android devices have already been infected through the Malicious app (an app that spreads malware).
According to mobile security company Gimperia, malware has been spread through these apps in the last two months of last year under a scamming campaign called 'Grifthorse'. These apps are called Heart Rate Pulse Tracker, Handy Translator Pro and Bus Metrolis 2021.
Although Google is strict about these harmful apps, many apps are out of surveillance. Although these apps are simple to look at, they start sending harmful notifications after installing on the phone. These apps have spread malware through tempting offers like getting rewards. Google says it is wary of this.
